My Favorite SNES Games
I remember being so excited about the Super Nintendo, because I loved the NES so much, and this was going to be even better. The SNES is my favorite console of all time and has the best game library, IMO.
Super Mario World
My Thoughts: My favorite Mario game of all time, I absolutely loved this game when it came out. And we got introduced to Yoshi.
Earthbound
My Thoughts: My ALL TIME favorite game. Quirky and tons of fun. Lots of goofy items and characters in this game.
Super Mario Kart
My Thoughts: The OG Mario Kart. Not as good as modern versions but I loved it back in the day.
UN Squadron
My Thoughts: One of my early favorite games on the SNES. Its got cool jets, cool weapon upgrades, good music, and fun levels. I could never beat it until I played through using an emulator and a ROM, where I could save my progress and restart in the middle when needed. Kind of cheating, but I wanted to beat this game because I love it so much.
Super Metroid
My Thoughts: Cool enemies. Cool music. Cool locations. Cool main character. An overall great game. My uncle gave me this game after he played through it.
Top Gear 3000
My Thoughts: I had a lot of fun playing the Top Gear games with my dad as a kid. The first one was good, the second one was much better, and this third one was even better.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
My Thoughts: The box art and game art are pretty neat. The game is fun with a lot of different items and weapons you can get. Lots of levels to play. Fun game.
Zelda: A Link to the Past
My Thoughts: I remember getting this game for my birthday, and playing it for the first time was magical. The Zelda games are always good but this one is my favorite of them all. The music pops into my head a lot still after all these years.
Ken Griffey Jr Baseball
My Thoughts: I was super into baseball when this game came out. I loved the Atlanta Braves and could name the whole team, even all the backups. So I had to get this game, and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
Rock N Roll Racing
My Thoughts: At Yosemite High School my best friend was a guy named Kevin. He mentioned one day that he had this cool game he was selling, I think for $40. I like racing games, and it did look cool, so I bought it from him. And whoa, what a fun game. My favorite racing game of the retro era, and you also get to shoot missles and lay land mines, and use turbo, all on the way to outrace the other three vehicles. So much fun, and of course, awesome music.
Donkey Kong Country
My Thoughts: This game had so much going for it. It introduced us to amazing graphics on the SNES. It had really good music. And the game-play was really well done. Its an early gem from RARE.
Street Fighter II
My Thoughts: Ok, so the first Street Fighter II isn't the best Street Fighter game on the system, but its the one that made this list because of how much fun I had playing it with friends. I remember having friends over for my birthday, and I had rented this game and we were playing it. And then I got my own copy of the game as a present and we immediately swapped out my copy for the rental. The rest of the Street Fighter games were better, and faster, with more characters. But the OG is the one that started it all.
